Gather Herbs is a character skill in the game For The King.
Description[]
Chance to gain a random herb at the end of turn while in the wilderness.
Effects[]
Gather Herbs is a passive skill that grants a character on foot in the Overworld a small chance for a random herb to spawn in their inventory at the end of a turn.
Gather Herbs can also trigger while in a dungeon, with a slight modifier (see below).
Conditions[]
Gather Herbs will only be able to trigger if the character with the skill is standing alone in an unoccupied or "bare" hex when the turn ends. For instance, the hex cannot contain a town, sanctum, or other locations. Active encounters and corrupted hexes will also prevent a character from being able to use Gather Herbs.
Chance to trigger[]
Provided the conditions are favourable, a random behind-the-scenes roll between 1 and 100 is checked against a character's Intelligence to determine if Gather Herbs will successfully trigger, using the following formulae:
- While in the Overworld
- While in a dungeon
